With sustainability at the forefront of our production, it’s great to be able to use O'Neills new Repreve fabric for the Bristol City goalkeeper shirts for the 24/25 season. Repreve transforms single use plastic bottles into polymer resin to make yarn. Each individual shirt contains approximately 9 single use plastic bottles. The process includes collecting single use plastic bottle then chopping, grinding and cleaning the flakes prior to melting them before transforming them into a high quality Repreve resin. At this stage the resin is melted into a liquid polymer and extruded to form fiber where it is then spun into a yarn ready to enter the fabric knitting stage of production.
Every strand of REPREVE® is embedded with FiberPrint®, a proprietary tracer technology. This means, like human DNA, we know a product’s origins and can verify it with the U Trust® certification.
